Colleges cut instruction spending

Is this really the best place to cut??? Charge more deliver less. This will not help our higher ed. institutions keep their competitive edge in the world or share it with the next generation.

At some point between 2002 and 2004, most private four-colleges began spending a larger share of their budget on administrative and academic support than on instruction. The exception: private research universities.

And that was before the current economic difficulties.
